On September 24, 2022, a day that South Africa observes as Heritage Day, the renowned Miss Heritage Global beauty pageant, which promotes the world’s rich heritage, is set to take place in a country. The pageant was established in 2013 with the goal of creating something uniquely African.
Women from around the world will travel to the culturally diverse province of Limpopo at Kalahari waterfront Nandoni, where this prestigious event will take place, as South Africa has been chosen as the host this year.
Miss Heritage Global unites beauty queens between the ages of 18 and 28 from various countries and backgrounds to learn about the culture of the host nation, turning them into culture ambassadors.
Zabelo Hlabisa, Miss Heritage South Africa, expressed her joy at serving as the hostess Queen and said she was looking forward to educating the other queens about South Africa’s heritage.Ronald Tisauke, a co-founder of Miss Heritage Global, expressed his belief that by involving communities from various backgrounds in the competition, the pageant can help create jobs.
“We are not just trying to be internationally recognized but the point of this pageant is to also help marginalized communities and reshape their destiny if possible, so a part of it is to also try to identify the gaps within societies and help where we can through the pageant,” he said

The Miss Heritage Global team added that having beauty queens present their heritage on a platform would help demonstrate the importance of unity. Contestants from other nations will also learn about South African history, said Angela Skomolo, the founder of Miss Heritage Global. “South Africa is well-known for its diversity and the contestants will have a chance to tour some parts of South Africa to get a better understanding of the history of the country.”
There will be three events that contestants can take part in during Heritage Week. The first event will be Market Day, a chance for nearby companies to display their products to the globe and for contestants to engage with the general public. The women will cook a meal that is typical of their culture or nation on Market Day, and guests will have the chance to sample them and learn more about them.
The pageant is an educational performance that promotes cultural and racial diversity around the world while simultaneously entertaining viewers and educating them about global heritage. Japan, France, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Ghana, Zimbabwe, and several more African nations plan to participate in the pageantry.
The pageant will not include a swimwear category due to the diversity of the contestants. The contestants will have the chance to visit Gauteng as part of the pageant and explore historic sites that highlight the history of the country.
